With some unseasonably cold temperatures, and leaves changing colour in August, fall decided to arrive early. It’s unwelcome news for most – unless you happen to be a ski hill making preparations for another season!
"We’re coming off of our best summer camp season ever,” beamed Batawa Ski Hill’s Erin Traer. "We nearly doubled the number of kids we had last year. The kids got to hike to the Bleasdell Boulder, learn survival skills by making smoke signals and shelters with CFB Trenton’s Cpt. Moorhouse, dig up a T-Rex, learn about Batawa’s ecosystem, and make a bunch of new friends.”
GM Andrew Rusynyk explains how the hill is now shifting gears from summer to winter: "We’re actually really busy with winter preparations. The Farmer’s Almanac is predicting another cold winter, and the snow is flying already in Alberta.”"Our state-of-the-art snow making system is being readied for operations as soon as those temperatures start dropping, and Operations Manager Danny MacDuffie is making sure that the chair lift is serviced and inspected before the cold weather hits.”
The hill launched its Early Bird Season Pass Sale. Skiers and snowboarders can take advantage of the low pre-season prices right now.
"It’s our biggest sales event of the year,” says Rusynyk, "and with the great snow coverage we had last year, we’re expecting to see a rise in interest this year.”For more information, call 613-398-6568 or email email@example.com
